Histology-1

In this chapter, you can find support material for the histology courses. The pages contain pictures - representative segments of the slides shown in the practices - with descriptions helping general orientation in the slides.

The material provided here is not a substitution, by any means, of the lectures, practices and textbooks. Here, we did not intend to write a comprehensive textbook just to give you an aid for your studies, call your attention to common mistakes or misinterpretations. Please also observe our guidelines regarding the use of the histology rooms and how to handle the microscopes.

TECHNICAL HINTS - how to use these pages efficiently

The pages are organized according to our teaching schedule. Basically, they are divided into three semesters and each semester into 14 weeks. Navigation through the pages can be done in the usual way: by clicking on the "links". Clicking on the small histological pictures mixed with the explanations makes the enlarged photograph of the picture appear. From here, you can return to the previous page by clicking on the "back" button of your navigator. On the pages, small blue arrowheads help further navigations. By hitting up within or at the end of the pages, you can go up to the top of the page. From there, by using the -1 hét vissza and +1 hét arrows you can navigate 1 week back, jump to the main page of the semester or go to the next week topic, respectively.

The material, found here, is continually modified, improved. This is why it is suggested to study it on-line. If you still want to use it off-line (after download) by any reason please strictly observe the copyright.

Any comment, suggestion regarding the material is welcomed.

Have a pleasant study,

Dr Horváth Judit

Participated in preparing these pages

The microscopic slides, as a source of the digitalized pictures, were prepared by the current and former members of the Anatomy Department in the past few decades... The source tissues - mostly of human origin - were obtained form the Pathology Department or from operation thearters. In this, quite tediuos process, several people participated - mostly former members or students worked in our Department. The microscopic slides, actually the same as used in the histology practices, were made by technicians and students worked in our Department. The originals of some pictures were prepared by scanning the slides (dia-s) projected in the histology practices and lectures, but an increased proportion of them were taken directly with a digital microscope-camera.

The WEB pages were technically prepared and edited by Valer Csernus . He and Judit Horvath digitized and digitally edited the pictures. The schematic diagrams were composed by Valer Csernus and Istvan Lengvari.

The text was mostly written by Judit Horvath observing suggestions other teachers of the Department and feedbacks from the students. Part of the text (mainly of the second semester) was composed by prof. György Sétáló .
