Below, you can find means to check weather your system is suitable to exploit all the features in the WEB pages of the Anatomy Department. Should you have problems, you can also find suggestions here on how to solve them. If you follow the instructiions carefully - and use your common sense while you browse other places in the Internet - the risk of acquiring a computer virus will not increse, but makes your system definitely more usable.
The screen you see must meet the following statements. If not, do the adjustments listed below.
The following procedure is suggested to carry out for those, who use Internet Explorer-6 / on Windows XP-SP2 operation system but can also be useful in other systems. In these cases (other Windows or IE versions), the panels, shown below, can be different, and some functionst might be missing.
1. Find the window below with the following steps: Internet Explorer-6 (IE6) - Menu - Tools - Internet options... - Security - Trusted sites (click on the green figure) - then
Click the "Sites..." button.
With this procedure, the WEB site of our department was considered "trusted" and the browser uses the settings valid for these sites - and unlike other sites - will freely use some sophisticated features.
Still on the site "Security", in the active tate of the "Trusted sites" press the "Custom level" button.
In the window that appears, modify all the settings to "Enable"..
Most of the are in this way, originally. Exceptions:
2. If you wish the system also work Off-line (from CD, or HD) reliabli, folow these steps:
IE6-Menu - Tools - Internet options... - Advanced
On the page, appears, find the "Security" segment - clos to the bottom of the page.
Chek (enable) the first 3 items, (see. figure), then save the setting by pressing "OK" (repeatedly).
After you finished these settings, "Refresh" this page, and see, if everything works fine. In case of problems, check carefully, if every settings is made in the way described above.
If your system does not work properly even after these setting, probably your virus-protection system is "too strict". Please set it, or have it set properly. You can check, whether this is the case, by temporary disabling your virus protection system and viewing our pages this way.
Unfortunately, these suggestions can be applied directly to a few browsers and PC-s. However, the basic principles help also in other cases. I would be very gratefull and it would be very usefull if those whi has other experiences, ideas in this field wrote that to me to share them with other students in this page.
